This is the kind of family home that would make any owner fizz with pride at every doorway and turn. Designed professionally by an interior designer, it’s styled with neutral tones and textures that are full of impact, while keeping true to its Victorian heritage; with original features intact and high ceilings only adding to the drama.
The kitchen-diner is wood panelled and flooded with natural light. The painted, exposed steels give the space an architectural vibe, with the Crittal doors opening up to the garden: a relaxing space with natural stone and wood elements. And well, you can just picture the parties here! In contrast, the lounge has a cosiness about it, and the substantial utility room will keep all the laundry and necessary family garb away from it.
The 4 bedrooms all have distinct characters, topped off by a bright, roomy loft conversion with skylights. The bathrooms both have walk-in showers and all the fittings and details have been considered and chosen carefully.
You’ll be living on a quiet residential road, but close enough to a buzzy area, and the cultural heart of E17. Everything’s within walking distance: the market, the cinema, William Morris Gallery, Lloyd Park, and you’re near the village with all its independent shops, cafes and restaurants. There’s a variety of local schools within walking distance and there’re easy transport links, with Walthamstow Central tube and Overground stations either a 9 minute walk or a 4 minute cycle. A stand-out Victorian family home in an ideal location. Shall we take a look?
In The Owners Words...
We have loved living in this house and on Aubrey Road for 15 years. The location is ideal as it is a short walk to the village, train/tube station, Lloyd Park and High Street. Aubrey Road is a lovely quiet one way street with a fantastic community feel.
Friends and family say how light and calm our home feels, the sun rises at the front and sets in the garden. A few years ago we did extensive work to the house to fit our growing family. We wanted to design the house keeping the original elements but have a modern kitchen extension, which we love spending time in. We also incorporated (the much needed!) extra storage, underfloor heating, column radiators and a log burner which makes it warm and cosy in the winter.
We will deeply miss this house especially how private the garden is and the fact the back of the house is not overlooked, very rare in London!
