This is the house on the street that you’d like to walk into. Everything about it screams home. The long reception room is gently divided between the lounge at the front, lit from the bay window, and the original dining area extends the space for studying, working or playing.

The freshly extended kitchen-diner is full of natural light and is a lovely, open space for family living and entertaining. The dining area opens out through bi-fold doors to the garden, which is a well ordered, blank canvas for you to create in. And the downstairs WC will be handy in a home with 3 floors. Kitchen benefits from underfloor heating which is nice in colder months.
Throughout, the finish is impeccable, it feels solid and welcoming with neutral decor, interesting pops of colour and contemporary bathrooms. And of course you’ve the Victorian high ceilings and original details like the external tiling and fireplaces.

The bedrooms are doubles and having so many, gives you options to have a hideaway office, private study or dressing room. There’s also ample storage. The loft conversion has 2 further bedrooms, divided by another bathroom.

Once home to a number of cinema studios in the early 20th century, Wood Street is once again becoming an artistic and cultural destination in E17. Stretching from Forest Road all the way up to Whipps Cross, it’s a dynamic, vibrant area with fantastic independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There’s a variety of local schools in the area too, many within walking distance. Also parks and lots of sports facilities.
Wood Street Station is less than a 10 minute walk away and with the good local transport links you can be in the City within 20 minutes and central London within half an hour.
A lovely aspect of this area are the acres of natural green space at Hollow Ponds and Epping Forest, and both are a short cycle from home.
A lovely Victorian family home in a fantastic part of east London, shall we take a look?

In The Owners Words...

"Over the last 7 years we have worked to realise a home which is a true family home. People always comment on the feel of our home, it’s spacious and light but also very comfortable and cosy. In the summertime, the kitchen doors are open to the garden which is south facing so it gets the sun all day which is lovely to relax in during the warmer months. In winter its great to snuggle up in front of the fire in the front room after walks in Epping forest. The recently completed loft conversion means there’s plenty of additional space and storage which is great for living and working from home.
The house is in the catchment area for great schools and we love that it is only a few moments walk from Wood Street which is a great up and coming high street and a 10 minute stroll to the ‘Village’. Being only a short walk to Wood Street Overground station means easy access to Hackney and the City.
Havant Road has been closed off to through traffic which means it is nice and quiet with low traffic that adds to the feeling of being part of a community with great neighbours whilst being close to the action. We will miss this house greatly and wish we could take it with us."
